The mid-term review meeting of the Excite project was held on 6th and 7th February 2011 at the University of Malaga. A great opportunity to meet altogether!

Manuel López-Antequera obtained the best paper award for “Image-based localization using Gaussian processes”, presented on the International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).

To share the knowledge and technical advances of our lab, the MAPIR group (represented on this occasion by Javier G. Monroy) attended the SMART RURAL “FIMART” innovation fair. In its third edition, this innovation fair brought together companies and research facilities with the aim to promote technology transfer and innovation in rural areas.
The Roadbot, the vehicle designed by MAPIR for surveying roads’ surfaces, was officially presented on 16th November 2009. The rector of the University of Málaga and members of the Sacyr’s company and the regional goverment were invited to the event.
The Mapir group got the Infaimon 2011 prize at the XXXII Jornadas de Automatica held in Seville last September with the work:
