Ra\u00fal Ruiz Sarmiento<\/a>\u00a0won the &#8220;Robotnik&#8221; award for the best thesis in robotics, presented in the &#8220;Jornadas de Autom\u00e1tica 2017&#8221; event, celebrated in Gij\u00f3n, Spain, in the month of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final round he presented his thesis, entitled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/mapir.uma.es\/papersrepo\/2016\/2016-raul-probabilistic_techniques_in_semantic_mapping_for_mobile_robotics.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Probabilistic Techniques in Semantic Mapping for Mobile Robots<\/a>&#8220;, co-directed by Prof. Javier Gonz\u00e1lez Jim\u00e9nez and Dr. Cipriano Galindo.
