He has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.us.es\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.us.es\/\">University of Sevilla<\/a>, and a Ph.D. in Control Systems and Robotics from the University of Malaga. During his PhD he spent one year at the  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ri.cmu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University<\/a>\u00a0(USA)  working on mobile robots. He has been leading Spanish and European projects on mobile robotics and perception for more than 25 years. His research interest includes mobile robot autonomous navigation, computer vision, and robotic olfaction.
